The Band

  Lantz Lazwell and the Vibe Tribe grab hold like a purple feathered Boa constrictor, delving into unexpected regions of Funk, Soul, blues, and jam Rock. If you thought this band was a party in the past, now with the addition of a horn section, they are a down right dance floor killah! Slaying reinvented covers and owning instantly lovable originals, they will leave jaws agape while keeping the dance floor humming. 

Lazwell has also shared the stage w such greats as George Clinton, Bernie Worrel (Talking Heads), Stephen Perkins (Janes Addiction), Angelo Moore and Norwood Fisher (Fishbone), and the Neville Brothers.        Their new record, “Counter Clockwise”, features George Clinton, Stephen Perkins , Norwood Fisher, and Eric McFadden (P-Funk Allstars).... and is due to drop Summer 2021.

Lantz Lazwell is a larger than life  figure, part guitar hero, part comic book character and all around soul brother. Audiences have no choice but to throw caution to the wind as they lead you thru a multi-layered, poly textural labyrinth of funky, bluesy rock n roll. The stylishly attired frontman commands the stage with the charisma of a natural born performer.

Byron Colborn

Saxophonist

Byron Colborn is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, and is active full time as both a performer and a music teacher. Colborn leads several ensembles in Sacramento, CA including the Element Brass Band and his own 18 piece Big Band. He can be heard regularly as a sideman with Lantz Lazwell & The Vibe Tribe, Jessica Malone, and Peter Petty. Byron has opened for or shared the stage with GZA of the Wu-Tang Clan, Andy Frasco & The U.N., Blackalicious, The California Honeydrops, DJ Logic, Angelo Moore of Fishbone, Guitarist Eric Gales, and many more!

Patrick Lema

Patrick Lema studied jazz performance at the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated in 2021. Since his degree, he has been playing music full time around Northern California in various groups and projects. He fronts his own jazz trio, composes experimental music as a solo artist, currently has works featured in short length documentaries, and is touring with the band Lantz Lazwell and the Vibe Tribe.

Isaac Parsons

Isaac Parsons is a bassist who started playing in junior high and high school bands.In that time he started professionally in jazz combos and rock bands.Isaac even played with a combo on the cruise ship S.S. Azure Seas.

    Isaac went on to Chico State to study recording arts.His studies got sidelined when he and a few other students formed the rock and roll band the Mother Hips while at Chico State in 1990.

   The Mother Hips are considered the architects of the “California Soul” sound.They went on to record 3 albums on Rick Rubin’s American Recordings label.

   Isaac stayed with the band for 13 years and shared stages and toured with The Black Crowes,Wilco,Johnny Cash,Blues Traveler,Sheryl Crow,Cracker,and many other established acts.

   Isaac retired from the Mother Hips in 2003 to get off the road and raise his family.Since then he has played locally throughout Northern California with many different artists including Lantz Lazwell and the Vibe Tribe.

Jenes Carter brings a light and energy to a show that inspire and promotes self expression, with love, booty shakin and frickin’ spunk. Jenes (Formerly of Black Rock City Allstars and Mojo Green) currently fronts the new SoulFunkHopedelic group Jenes N The Juice Carter has shared the stage with E-40, Too Short, Digital Underground, Keak Da Sneak, Hieroglyphics, Eric Mcfadden, Cutris Young (Son of Dr Dre), Q Parker of 112, Chamillionaire, Flo Rida, Shock G, Nelly, Mickey Avalon, Adina Howard, Pharcyde, Cypress Hill, Dogg Pound, Dj Quick, San Quinn, Big Boi of Outkast, DMac, Sean Paul, Lyrics Born, Karl Denson's Tiny Universe, Lettuce, The Funky Meters, The Motet, Trombone Shorty, Orgone, The Pimps Of Joytime, Dumstaphunk ,Galactic, The New Mastersounds, Big Sam's Funky Nation, ALO,Turkuaz, The Monophonics ,Rusted Root, and more.

Josh Cambridge

 Josh Cambridge, Sacramento Native trombonist; has been playing trombone for over 20 years. In those years Josh has had the opportunity to perform and collaborate with numerous groups such as City of trees Brassband, ZuhG, Arden Park Roots, Ideateam, Element Brass Band,  Rainbow Girls, Flip the Switch, MJ’S Brassboppers, The Funky Spliffs, The Humidors, Riot Maker, Groovincble and many many more. In 2019 Joshua made the decision with his current wife Lilly to move to New Orleans and have the opportunity of a lifetime, where Josh got to share the stage with names like big Sam, Kermit Ruffins, March 4th Brassband, and the California Honey Drops. Joshua also works as a Band Instrument Repair Technician. And now  has the pleasure of blasting his horn with Lantz Lazwell the vibe tribe.
